- Program Description:
This course provides a cultural immersion and field-based experience through exploration of the Italian educational system. Particular attention will be placed on how Italy incorporates the arts into science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. The focus of the course will be gaining an understanding through cultural immersion with the Florentine community, exposure and appreciation of Italian high school and college education principles, studying early STE(A)M proponents like Leonardo da Vinci and Francesco Solari, and developing skills for conducting cross-cultural inquiry. This course will also offer an opportunity to learn through traditional, experiential, and self-paced learning within the Italian community.
