Program Overview

Program Description:

Welcome to Amman, Jordan, where tradition meets modernity in the Middle East! During this intensive language program, classes meet for several hours a day, are taught by local faculty at MALIC, and explore a mix of modern spoken Arabic and the Jordanian dialect. The distinct advantage to studying Arabic in Jordan on this program as opposed to a campus in the States is the language socialization component, where students will have an opportunity to put directly into practice in Amman what they have learned in the classroom. This could include visiting a local cafe, negotiating (in Arabic) for a thoub (traditional dress) at a local market, or hanging out with Jordanian students.
