Program Description:
The Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Gardner-Webb University is a 36-semester hour program in three modules offering two areas of specialty education for students with the Master of Science in Nursing degree: Advanced Practice Leadership and Educational Leadership. Course work is presented in an executive format requiring 40 clock hours of on-campus classes each semester for each 3 semester hours of study. Classes will be held on the main campus at Boiling Springs, NC at the beginning of the semester for student/faculty collaboration and faculty presentation, clarification of theoretical content, learning objectives, and course requirements. The balance of the semester will be followed by online lectures, presentations, writing assignments, and interactive class discussions using Gardner-Webb University's distance learning system. Purpose The purpose of the Post Master’s Doctor of Nursing Practice is to provide superior graduate education developing nursing leaders through meaningful intellectual thought, critical analysis and spiritual challenge. Post Master’s DNP students add to our diverse community of learning and are prepared to make significant contributions for God and humanity in a global community. Goals To prepare advanced practice nurses educationally prepared with a master’s degree to become leaders in evidence-based practice in a variety of healthcare, business, government, and educational organizations. To engage students in innovative, scholarly evidence-based practice inquiry in their chosen field of nursing. To provide MSN graduates with the necessary skills to become competent in translating research into practice, evaluating evidence, applying research in decision making, and implementing innovations to improve health and healthcare outcomes. To prepare students to make contributions to the knowledge and practice of nursing, meet demands of the increasing complexity of the healthcare system, improve the quality of patient care delivery and outcomes, and influence health care policy.

A cumulative GPA of 3.20 on all previous graduate coursework as evidenced by official graduate transcripts. 4. An MSN Degree from nursing from a nationally accredited program offered by a regionally accredited institution as evidenced by official graduate transcripts. 5.
