- Program Description:
- The Animal Science Pre-Vet Program offers two dynamic field intensive courses: Exploring Animal Health and Diseases in Belize and Wildlife of Belize. The program is designed for the pre-veterinary, veterinary, animal science or zoology student.
The Exploring Animal Health and Diseases in Belize course will help students to gain working knowledge of the husbandry, and health issues confronting large farm animals in Belize. The Wildlife of Belize course is designed to give students a working knowledge of habitat, reproductive and health issues confronting zoo and wildlife animals in Belize.
All program fees include tuition up to 7 credit hours, orientation, lab and field fees, round trip airport transfers on group arrival and departure days, housing in double occupancy, weekday breakfasts, access to 24/7 support services and ground transportation to and from field sites.
- Setting Description:
- Galen University is located in English speaking, western Belize, Central America. The small campus is sub-tropical, multi-cultural and multi-lingual. Students live in a family run resort in San Ignacio, in the foothills of the Maya Mountains. The program allows free time for students to explore other sites and attractions in the country.
