Program Description:

FurKidz is a registered Non-Profit-Organisation, founded to assist Animal Shelters across South Africa in re-homing their animals. Furkidz provides an easily searchable, comprehensive database of rescue pets available for adoption. We visit shelters, take pictures and film short video clips of their animals, write pet profiles, upload the information and post fundraising events and general news. We also provide an online Forum, a Library filled with pet related articles and a comprehensive service section where people can find vets, groomers, behaviourists and pet sitters. Regular newsletters are sent out, pet related articles written and posted and FurKidz hosts and supports fundraising events and adoption days.

FurKidz is looking for volunteers/ interns to assist with the following task: ? Visiting animal welfares throughout the Western Cape/ South Africa ? Taking pictures / filming video clips of shelter animals ? Picture and Video Editing ? Handle / manage / interact with shelter animals ? Assess shelter animals (personality, breed, age etc.), write pet profiles ? Write pet related articles ? Prepare and post daily features ? Prepare and post daily news and events ? Find, collate, write newsletter content ? Receiving and handling of email enquiries ? Uploading of information / posting of ads ? Administering the Lost & Found section ? Administering the Happy Tails section ? Administering the Forum section ? Preparing regular adoption updates ? Prepare newsletter ? Online Marketing / General Marketing ? Organize Fundraising and other Events ? Arrange Sponsorship/ Donations ? SEO Optimization
