Program Description:
Building on a long and successful history of partnership with Ghanaian legal institutions, Fordham Law is proud to offer law students the opportunity to earn up to 6 credits studying and interning in this West African center of international business and enterprise.

The program runs a two-week ABA-accredited summer session in the capital, Accra, followed by optional internships of at least 5 weeks. Participants enroll in one of two 3-credit courses - international human rights law or international oil and gas law - alongside Ghanaian and other international law students. Students may then opt to stay on for 3-credit internships with the judicial service, including the Supreme Court. Non-credit internships are also available with the judiciary, as well as with leading law firms, government agencies, and NGOs.

Setting Description:
The Program is held in the capital and largest city, Accra, at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), one of the finest facilities in the country. With over 2 million people and an appealing blend of stately monuments, modern skyscrapers, vast markets and an amiable and relaxed state-of-mind, Accra offers great beaches, restaurants, and cultural and historical attractions. Accra is also just hours from the country's most famous tourism destinations in the Eastern and Central regions, which students can visit visit through optional weekend field trips.
