Program Description:
Combine your stay in Italy with your passion for photography, or take a time to improve and expand your knowledge attending a photography course in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Fondazione Studio Marangoni (founded in 1991) offers three-week courses, daily and weeklyworkshops, as well as academic courses to complement your holidays or to start a career as a professional photographer. Classes are held in English. You will learn techniques and approaches from renown international professionals, while discovering the beauty of Florence, its art, architecture, history and, of course, its tasty food!

Discover the beauty of Florence, express yourself, improve your tecnique A photography course designed for experience Florence and her beauty with the camera. Emphasis is placed on the application of technique in terms of personal expression. The class will provide the students with the appropriate technical tools for understanding and photographing Florence. Students will be able to explore different sites in the city and take picture following various photographic assignments. The course include lectures, slide shows, demonstrations, shooting and field trips, discussions and critiques on the pictures produced by students, visits to exhibitions and museum, labs. Lectures will cover the History of Photography, with a special attention to Italian photographers, technical aspects related to photography production. At the end of the course the students will produce a portfolio.

TEACHER Massimo Agus. Having graduated in Architecture from the University of Florence, Massimo specialized in theater and stage photography. His photographic work covers theatre, opera, music as well as dance, street theatre and celebrity portraiture. From 1982 to 1986 he lived and studied in New York, where he was amongst the founders of the stage magazine On Stage New York. Massimo has collaborated with many theater companies and festivals in Tuscany. Recently he has completed and exhibited a photographic project on the Russian and Polish communities in Florence. In 2004 he co-founded the Center for Stage Photography in San Miniato, near Pisa. Since 1997 Massimo has taught History of Photography at the University of Siena. He has taken part in exhibitions in Europe and the United States, and holds workshops on stage photography in various Italian cities.
