- The objective of the BA. Fashion Journalism is the practice-oriented education of highly qualified journalists seeking professional activities according to their talent and inclination in the variety of careers available in the fashion, clothing and media industry.
The current professional fields of fashion journalists in the job market include all areas of fashion, clothing and media. The degree also qualifies you to work in other related areas, such as fashion consulting, merchandising, PR and advertising.
With its multi-faceted study programme, the BA. Fashion Journalism is based on the latest technological and scientific developments and responds to the needs of the dynamic processes in our information and knowledge-based society.
All graduates are suitably prepared and qualified for their future careers. They acquire so-called meta competences, which are highly valued as key competences in terms of vocational and job market orientation.
Notably, management skills and organisational independence, capacity for teamwork, research and analytical competence, conceptional and creative thinking, social competence, a practically oriented innovation competence including the ability to critically reflect both your own as well as other’s design achievements.
Our cooperation with partner establishments, companies, universities and networks secure our course offerings. Along with the subject-specific orientation of the Bachelor studies, interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity are understood as essential elements of the design process and consequently applied in an interdisciplinary manner.
The interdisciplinarity of the Fashion Design Institut is reflected in the practice phases of the students enshrined in the curricula.

With reference to Fashion Design, exceptional artistic talent is required. Internships are designed to enable students to put theory into practice and gain new experience. When applying for an internship, international contacts established at trade fairs, shows and exhibitions along with short-term internships at home and abroad prove particularly helpful. BA. FASHION JOURNALISM Students must complete a 3-month internship in the 3rd and 5th semesters. These can also be performed nationally.
