This program is equally divided between “Stylisme” and “Modelisme” two distinct professions in French couture: ‘’Stylisme” being the creative design and “Modelisme” the technical skills to actually drape ,sew and construct designs. The combination of these two skill sets defines the curriculum at ESMOD and produces graduates with unparalleled expertise and artistry. Students in the Undergraduate Fashion Design program will attend classes on average five hours a day, either in the morning or in the afternoon leaving students with time to work on their collections. There will be 50 additional hours per semester dedicated to computer skills, foreign language and marketing. Hello, my name is Marie and am at ISEM, the business formation of ESMOD. My sister did ESMOD that's why I know very well this formation. I consider ESMOD as a very good formation which allows you to work after the three years. For example after to be
graduate, my sister was contacted by a french underwear compagnie, to be assistant stylist. Now, she works for this brand in the innovation sector and she really enjoys what she does every days. Sometimes it was hard, there was a lot of stress and personal work but ESMOD brings you a significant professional network and it's a training that is very comprehensive.read moreBottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Hello everyone! As an undergrad student as ESMOD Paris, I can honestly highly recomend this school. Although it does have a hefty price tag, the knowledge transmitted and the connections we get through the school are worth it. It is the oldest fashion
school in France and greatly appreciated in the fashion world. The tutors here have years of experience behind them, which makes them highly qualified to teach. Personally, I did not even know how to get thread through a sewing machine before even coming here and I am now in my final year, making a collection full of organza, plastic and leather, all materials which are not so easy to sew! The school greatly focuses on the technical aspect of fashion making. It is a school to learn how to make clothes with beautiful and neat finishes, rather than pieces of art made out of fabric. Although students create beautiful designs, it is not an art school. There are more prestigious art schools such as Saint-Martins (London) who offer fashion courses but focus more on the art side of fashion making rather than the technical side of it. Another great thing about ESMOD is that it features a double study program. Here, students learn "stylisme", which is all related to style/drawing/color boards etc and "modelisme", which focuses on the sewing part. Two teachers work coincidly to create a program which allows students enough time to work on both sides of the course. Be warned: it is a lot of work and one needs to be fully dedicated to the course, but if you truly have a passion for this, you will get a good formation. As a first year student,I was given the chance to organize the yearly fashion show exhibiting the student's work, which was a great experience. Putting together a team and being totally free to create a show representing the school's abilites to the public was amazing. With the help of the school ad,inistration, my team and I were able to put on a great show and encourage other future students to come to ESMOD. Furthermore, the school has over 20 campus sites all over the world and one is able to do an exchange program with other campuses if he wishes. Overall, I do reccomend this school to students all over the world. We get a thorough education and are presented to work on great porjects inside and outside of school (fashion week backstage/ setting up fashion exibitions).read moreBottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
