Program Description:

The Master of Accountancy online program at ESU will prepare you for public accounting, leadership roles in internal auditing, forensic accounting, tax accounting, controllership, and more. This affordable and flexible program is designed to meet the 150-hour requirement for the CPA exam and can be completed in as few as 12 months 100% online. Learn advanced accounting skills that will equip you to move ahead in your professional accounting career. No work experience is required to enter the program, although a GMAT waiver is available for those with three years of significant experience, and the program can be completed in as few as 12 months.

In the 15 hours of required accounting courses, you will study the tax implications of forming, operating and dissolving C and S corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships, LLCs and fiduciaries. You will learn the processes in performing external audits, from the documentation, testing and evaluation of internal controls to the design and implementation of corroborative substantive tests.

In the 15 hours of required electives, you will have the opportunity to supplement your accounting knowledge with an additional 6 hours of accounting courses, such as Income Taxation of Corporations and Other Entities, Government and Not-For-Profit Accounting, and Fraud Examination. Non-accounting electives include relevant coursework like Business Analytics, Information Technology Project Management, and Law of Commerce, among others.

Requirements:
1) Hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent from an accredited institution of higher learning. 2) Either have an undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale OR have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher on a completed master’s degree. 3) Completion of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or GRE equivalent. GMAT must be completed with a minimum score of 450 and meet one of the following calculated MBA admissions formulas: 200 x undergraduate GPA + GMAT score = 1050 or 200 x graduate GPA + GMAT score = 1100. 4) Minimum TOEFL Score (if applicable) of 550. (TOEFL Score is not required for applicants with a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited U.S. college or university.) 5) Apply for ESU graduate admissions and submit official transcripts. Students can be exempt from taking the GMAT or GRE if they hold a bachelor’s degree from an AASCB accredited program and have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher.
International Requirements:
International students must have a TOEFL score of 550.
