Program Overview

Program Description:
Join and help an integrated therapy center to treat children and adults with disabilities! Located in La Villaflora, an underserved area of south Quito, an integrated therapy center calls on its dedicated, multidisciplinary team to treat children and adults with its broad spectrum of services. The therapy center offers services from early stimulation for the mentally disabled, physical rehabilitation, occupational therapy, programs for the learning challenged, and language therapy. New volunteers are very much welcome to provide free services to those clients on their waiting list and expand the Center’s sources of sustainable funding into the future, including online Spanish courses and the sale of educational materials.

This program is ideal for those who want to expand their experience and has dedication in health care or child development while learning about a different culture. Participants can volunteer for two weeks to three months and placements are offered year-round. Summer camps are offered during the months June to August. Optional one on one Spanish classes can be arranged through the Center's online Spanish program. Volunteers will get to practice their conversational Spanish with their host families and be provided with three meals per day. On time off, volunteers can visit art museums, cathedrals, or hike in Cotopaxi National Park.

Airport pickup, homestay accommodations with two meals/day, health/safety/cultural orientation, program supervision, and 24 hour staff support. Fees do not include airfare, insurance, any VISA fees. And optional one on one Spanish classes can be arranged for an extra fee.
