Program Overview
- Program Description:
An in-depth, personalized hands-on learning experience in Costa Rica, with a field excursion to Nicaragua. The program is open to students worldwide, no Spanish is required, and the interdisciplinary curriculum is suitable for various majors or as general education credit. Twelve (12) units of academic credit are provided from the Universidad de San Jose (Costa Rica).
Open to students from any university worldwide. Provides extensive field study, educational travel, and volunteer work in Costa Rica, as well a week-long field excursion to Nicaragua. The program base is San Ramon, where participants will live with Costa Rican families and take classes at the University of San Jose (San Ramon campus).
A very reasonable comprehensive fee is charged for the semester. It includes homestay costs, 12 units of academic credit, in-country travel and lodging, field site entrance fees, most food, use of university facilities and various other group activities.
