Program Description:
On this programme, students choose a range of modules in Translation Studies, Intercultural Studies and Language Studies. This allows you to design your own programme, without having to specialise in any one subject. The Graduate Diploma will suit those who wish to pursue careers/research in the general area of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies, as well as non-Irish nationals who wish to pursue careers/research in this field in an English-speaking environment. You may also continue to Masters level. Aims and Objectives: You will be introduced to the major professional, practical and theoretical issues in the field of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies. The programme provides professional training in translation and translation-related areas. To provide professionals working in intercultural situations with relevant training and increased awareness of the key issues relating to multiculturalism and how to apply an understanding of these issues to practical situations in an Irish/ international context.
