Program Overview

Program Description:
The Drew University Graduate School has reformulated and restructured the Modern European Intellectual History M.A. and Nineteenth Century Studies Ph.D. programs into the new Modern History and Literature M.A. program. This new interdisciplinary program covers the modern period from the early 18th century to late 20th century and provides a shared framework for interdisciplinary and integrated work in history and literature. There are two tracks. The Modern Intellectual and Cultural History program is designed for students seeking a degree in cultural/intellectual history in an interdisciplinary setting. The Modern English and American Literature program is designed for students seeking an interdisciplinary degree in English literature with serious exposure to cultural and historical studies.
