Program Description:

Working in partnership with one of the UK’s most prestigious boarding schools we are proud to offer our specialist football coaching and English Skills for Life programme. Only 20 students per week can attend each course. The facilities from accommodation, all meals, education and football are included. We will accept individuals or a small group of four due to the ratio of nationalities. The aims of the programme is to develop creative and confident players who are effective communicators on and off the pitch. UEFA LEVEL A or B coaches with experience with students from over the world. London club scouts will attend on the final day of the course. Accredited qualification by the English Speaking Board.

15 hours of specialist football coaching by UEFA coaches. 6 hours of lessons focussing on the ‘Language of Football. On the football pitch students will develop their skills with the ball and a series of coaching activities. They will be encouraged to use the phrases and vocabulary they have learnt in the classroom and be assessed on the pitch in small groups of six.

Our aim is to support footballers with their performance and ability and to develop creative and confident players as well as effective communicators. Everything our footballers learn about is centred round football and provides a flexible framework to suit individual needs. The programme will equip learners with the language skills and vocabulary necessary to understand typical situations in a football context as well as express themselves in English. It will build upon their existing languages skills and football ability and develop them so they can use them both on the football pitch or off, be it for school, college, the work place or a career within the football industry. We feel it is fundamental for a foreign player’s integration to communicate effectively and with confidence to coaching staff, the medical team and team mates in English as well as with people in everyday situations.

Setting Description:

The AMEX Stadium is an impressive football stadium near the village of Falmer situated in the University grounds. This is a truly modern campus with excellent facilities. The classes are held in the executive suites overlooking the pitch and all have modern audio visual equipment. The canteen offers nutritious food cooked on the premises and cater for dietary requests.
