The Dolphin Communication Project (DCP) is pleased to offer a FIELD COURSE IN CETACEAN ECOLOGY in Bimini, Bahamas. DCP, a non-profit research and education group, has been studying Atlantic spotted and bottlenose dolphins in this area since 2001. We are teaming up with Sacred Heart University (SHU) for this exciting, 3-credit university course. This course includes online components as well as 12 nights at DCP's Bimini, Bahamas field site.

This exciting program, led by Faculty member Dr. Deirdre Yeater, is an amazing opportunity for students to travel to the beautiful Bahamas to study dolphins in their natural habitat. Students will be able not only fulfill degree requirements by completing a 3 credit course, but will also be able to work with an experienced researcher from DCP. Students will study wild Atlantic spotted dolphins and bottlenose dolphins, all while learning about dolphin behavior and interaction.
- Setting Description:
- The field component is set in Bimini, The Bahamas the most westerly inhabited island of the Bahamas, is located ~81km (50 miles) east of Miami and consists of a number of islands, islets, and cays, including North and South Bimini, the main tourist areas. Students will stay at Sea Crest Hotel & Marina.
- Cost:
- approximately USD$4630 Exact cost dependent on enrollment. Does not include airfare, but does include 3-credits from Sacred Heart University. Check with your home university about credit transfer.
