Program Overview
- Program Description:
- A language course is a very efficient and interactive way to learn the Spanish language. Although it is possible to travel in Guatemala without speaking Spanish, you will see that you will have a different experience once you know some basics of the Spanish language. You can take a short beginners course to learn practical things like asking directions, telling something about yourself and asking the bill in the restaurant. If you already know some Spanish, or you have more time, take your knowledge to a next level, and get really immersed in the language and culture! You will be able to understand the beautiful anecdotes of a local guide, make Guatemalan friends, or communicate without any misunderstandings with your host family!
Guatemala offers many options for language study. There are many schools in almost all places where tourists come. However, in our experience, it is very important to check the quality of a Spanish school. Many schools have mainly the same program, but we work with two excellent schools in Quetzaltenango and Antigua, where you will definitely receive value for your money.
Our partner schools in Quetzaltenango and Antigua offer the full immersion course. The courses are scheduled per week, you can decide yourself how long you want to study. Study books and other resources will be provided by the school, you only need to bring writing utensils and a notebook. We selected these schools for their excellent study programs. The teachers all have many years of experience in teaching Spanish as a second language, and all have an official certification which allows them to teach Spanish to foreigners. The schools offer classes to students from any level, from beginner to superior courses are available.
