Program Overview

Program Description:

Volunteer with one of our two in-country partners in India and make a difference in the world.

You can build water-holding structures with our partner, Sahyog Sansthan, in villages outside of Bhinder in the arid lands of Rajasthan. Or work on projects to empower women and children with our other partner in the region, Jatan Sansthan.

In either case, you'll change someone's else's life and very likely, your own, too. You'll spend weekdays working hard on the project and evenings and weekends soaking up some of the local sights and culture. Both of these partners operate in or near Udaipur, a picturesque and historic city considered to be India's Venice, and a place that offers lots of exploration, learning and photographic opportunities.

Check out the Developing World Connections website to get more details about our trips to India and other locations around the world and start packing!

Setting Description:
The Rajasthan region of India is dry. It’s a situation that’s been made even worse by deforestation of the sparse trees that survive in the area.
Cost:
$2,300 CAD. A two-week volunteer trip to India costs about $2,300 CAD. This includes in-country food, in-country transportation, in-country accommodation and a substantial direct donation to the in-country partner. Airfare is not included; however, the entire cost paid through DWC is 100% tax deductible, including your flights. You also have the option to fundraise for your trip and tax receipts are given for donations of $20 or more.
