Program Description:
The program promotes excellence and educates students on the significant issues in environmental and atmospheric sciences, particularly with regard to global changes and their impacts. The program promotes excellence and educates students on the significant issues in environmental and atmospheric sciences, particularly with regard to global changes and their impacts. The challenging curricula includes mandatory subjects aiming to enable a common basis between students from different disciplines as well as a number of electives that provide insight into a variety of more specialized and important topics. The program is offered by The Cyprus Institutes' Energy, Environment and Water Research Center (EEWRC), an internationally recognized center addressing important scientific and technological issues in the field of environment, energy, water and policy/economy in the Eastern Mediterranean. The program provides the necessary educational setting where excellence in education and research are fostered through interdisciplinary collaboration on regional problems of global significance.

Accreditation:
The Environmental and Atmospheric Sciences doctoral program, as well as the graduate school offering it, are registered and licensed by the Ministry of Education and Culture under the relevant Law of the Republic of Cyprus. The Research Center responsible for the program, EEWRC, is collaborating in research with MIT, Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, Germany, the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, the Forschungszentrum Jülich, the University of Toronto, Canada, the University of Athens, Greece, and the Tel Aviv University, Israel.

To be considered for admission to a PhD Program, a student must have the following: •A Master's degree from a recognized accredited institution, with a strong academic record and background relevant to the proposed graduate-level studies. •Very good knowledge of the English Language (at least 6.5 IELTS or 570 TOEFL paper-based or 220 computer-based) or other accepted International Standard, if from school where English is not the teaching language. •Strong computational and analytical skills appropriate for the selected field of study. •General and Subject GRE test scores should be included in the application form.
