Program Description:

In Guatemala City, volunteers work with children in daycare centers and orphanages or with the elderly and disabled. Placements are in the shantytowns surrounding Guatemala City, or in the downtown areas of the city.

Experience another culture like never before while making a real difference in people's lives. You'll gain perspectives and insights into the local culture and yourself. It's an exciting and personally inspiring experience, and you'll develop memories that will be with you forever.

Setting Description:

Guatemala City, the capital, is the largest urban center in the country and is quickly becoming an international hub. Business and trade are both flourishing, while the large indigenous population has been relocating to the city in search of opportunities.
