Program Overview
- Program Description:
As you explore its ancient ruins, canopied jungles, and epic coastline, you'll understand, Peru is quite literally the stuff of legend. A melting pot of Japanese, African, Chinese, and European influences and roots tracing back to Pre-Columbian Incas, Peru is like no place else.
Volunteer with Cross-Cultural Solutions and you'll experience not only the great things Peru is famous for, but also a side that you never knew existed. By connecting with the local staff and serving others, you'll experience Peru not as a tourist, but more as a member of the community.
For two decades, CCS volunteers have traveled around the world to work on sustainable service projects. Volunteer in Peru to help improve education for local children, assist with the care of children, work to empower girls and women through education, assist children or adults with disabilities, support those aging with dignity, or provide education and outreach surrounding important health topics.
- Setting Description:
- Peru is a country of amazing physical beauty, with nearly a tenth of the world's rain forests, a long coast along the South Pacific Ocean, and the Andes Mountains running straight through its center. It is home to some of the world's greatest ancient wonders, including the Inca ruins of Machu Pichu.
