- The Paris Summer Institute welcomes J.D. and LL.M. students in the United States and equally welcomes law students and lawyers from around the world. In 2008 there were 110 students: seventeen from Cornell Law School, thirty from twenty-two other U.S. law schools, and sixty-three from eighteen other countries: Canada, Turkey, France, Mexico, Egypt, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Japan, Mauritius, Former Yugoslavia, Australia, Cameroon, Czech Republic, Hungary, India, and Nigeria.

The Paris Summer Institute emphasizes the study of international law and institutions, as well as U.S., European and Asian legal systems in a comparative context. It combines the excellence of Cornell's faculty with the University of Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne, in a uniquely international and culturally rich environment.

- The Paris Summer Institute home is the historic Faculte de droit and Sorbonne buildings, at the heart of the University of Paris, near the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg, and in the vibrant "Quartier Latin", the Paris home of university students for almost a thousand years.
