Program Description:

Comunidad Connect provides experiences that combine traditional tourism activities, such as surfing, hiking, or traveling, with a volunteer project dealing with education, healthcare, agriculture, economic sustainability or the environment. Volunteers stay with local families and the duration of the visit can vary from a few days to numerous months. Customized packages are a available for groups and independent travelers.

The specific curriculum or itinerary depends on the type of project the volunteer selects to participate in.

Setting Description:

San Juan del Sur is located on the Pacific Ocean in the Southwest of Nicaragua. The beaches are amazing here, as are the sunsets. Unfortunately, however, like most of Nicaragua, San Juan del Sur is a poor area with many social, environmental, and economic problems to address. We also work in rural areas in the Nicaraguan north and Pacific Coast.

Cost:

All inclusive 10 day or two week group packages range between $1000 and $2000 per person. Independent placement packages average $300 per week, including all food, lodging, and program support.
