Program Overview
- Program Description:
Ordinarily, a student with a master's degree in Urban Planning or a closely related field may expect up to two terms of advanced standing (30 points and two Residence Units) and should thus anticipate a year-and-a-half to two years of formal course work while in residence.
The number of course credits of advanced standing granted depends on the quality and relevance of earlier graduate studies and is determined by the Doctoral Program Subcommittee on Urban Planning after the first year of residence. Requests for transfer of course credits for work completed in other divisions of Columbia should be made through the GSAS Office of Admissions in 107 Low Memorial Library.
