Program Overview

Program Description:
Students earn 7 credits in Spanish language in the short-term sessions. In addition to a 4 credit core Spanish course, students take a 3 credit Special Topics Conversation class that takes advantage of the city and local culture.

The program combines intensive Spanish language instruction (beginning through advanced) with the study of Ecuadorian history and culture.

Program costs include tuition, room, board, field trips, fees, orientation, sickness and accident insurance and airport pickup.
Setting Description:
The Universidad Catolica de Santiago de Guayaquil is located in the commercial, industrial, and import-export hub of Ecuador. Beautiful beaches are only a one-hour bus ride from the city center. All students live with host families in Guayaquil, and two to three meals per day are provided.
