SUMMER, WINTER, AND TWO-WEEK INTENSIVE SESSIONS ARE AVAILABLE

Coexistence in the Middle East (CME) is an intercultural academic field program at the Rothberg International School of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Through a wide range of field trips and meetings, this initiative seeks to promote coexistence by enabling future and current leaders to learn first hand about the challenges and complexities posed by:

- Encounters between the “West” and the Middle East
- Relations among Christians, Jews, and Muslims
- Israel's international relations with Arab and Muslim countries
- Interests and concerns of the International Community
- Competing claims between Israelis and Palestinians

No previous coursework or knowledge needed. Option to earn undergraduate or graduate credits. Professionals who do not submit course assignments will receive a certificate of participation.

Coexistence in the Middle East (CME) is a 3-9 credit intercultural field program in which participants have the opportunity to explore the facts on the ground and examine local realities from the perspectives of various religious, political, cultural and national groups that converge in Jerusalem, a crossroads of humanity. Gain exposure to multiple narratives and realities through access to the sites beyond the headlines and engaging dialog with regional players.

3. MEETINGS WITH DIFFERENT PLAYERS*

4. MULTICULTURAL EXPERIENCE
To date, undergraduate and graduate students from prestigious universities across six continents, along with diplomats and professionals in various fields, have participated in CME.

Setting Description:

Students will live and attend lectures at the diverse Hebrew University campus, located in the ancient and beautiful city of Jerusalem.
