Program Description:
If you wish to qualify as a counsellor or therapist and seek registration with the B.C.A.C.C. our Master of Counselling program is designed for you. Attend courses in Vancouver, Victoria or via Inclusive Delivery Format (online plus quarterly seminars) allowing you to earn your degree while continuing your current career.Vancouver and Victoria classes take place weekly on Saturdays. Do you live outside the area? You can combine online and classroom learning by participating in our Inclusive Delivery Format. Requiring just four days of intensive class work per quarter in Vancouver (4 times per year), plus online assignments, this flexible mixed-mode study option makes it possible for you to earn your degree at your convenience without sacrificing your career or responsibilities.Your courses will address: fundamental skills; diversity and cultural psychology; ethics and law; grief and loss; family systems; research; human development; psychopathology and psychopharmacology; testing and assessment; psychotherapy theory; group counselling; psychological trauma; and addictions. Advanced courses apply this knowledge to couples counselling, thesis research, the psychology of aging, working with youth, and practicum experience. Through internships, you will gain practical experience in your area of interest while you network with other professionals in the local mental health and social service systems.
