Spend a summer studying abroad in Spain studying at an internationally renowned university in the cultural hub of Mediterranean Europe. On Summer at Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, you can soak up all that Barcelona has to offer both inside and outside the classroom. You’ll experience:
The most pristine white-sand beaches in Western Europe – Barcelona enjoys a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers. It’s always the perfect time of year for a visit to the beach! Barcelona’s beaches and boardwalks, a stone’s throw from your front door, are a main attraction in the city.
Life in the cultural capital of the Mediterranean – Barcelona is home to more UNESCO World Heritage sites than any other city in Europe. You will witness 2,000 years of architectural and cultural splendor. The numerous museums, churches, cathedrals, and concert halls, the modern art of Joan Miro and Pablo Picasso, and the influential architecture of Antonio Gaudi and Mies van der Rohe make Barcelona an aesthetically appealing destination for visitors from all over the world. Get ready for:
World-class academics at one of the strongest universities in Western Europe – You will spend your summer studying at the newest, most modern branch of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Study Spanish in Barcelona - the campus is located in an affluent financial and educational district in northern Barcelona.
Accommodations that suit your style – Summer at the UAB allows you to live with a Spanish family or share an apartment with other international students.
The city of Barcelona – The café culture, boutique shops, tapas restaurants, and world-famous nightlife will easily keep you busy for the entire summer.
Cultural activities and excursions are included – Imagine learning a little more about the history of Spain through a cooking class, or about southern Spain’s traditions while enjoying a flamenco show. Get to know the barrios of Barcelona in greater detail with small guided tours, or learn about immigration patterns affecting the city through diversity scavenger hunts.
Summer at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona offers an incredible opportunity for intensive study of the Spanish language, and for taking electives in your major, minor, or another area that interests you—all for credit at your home university. Class sizes are small to increase interaction with the professor, encourage academic rigor, and allow the international students to work together. You may choose either 2 elective courses or one language class and one elective to complete the 6-credit course load. Courses are taught in Spanish or in English by local faculty, so you don’t need to start with any Spanish-language skills. All levels of proficiency are accommodated. Classes are Monday through Thursday, leaving plenty of time for exploring the city, visiting museums and galleries, and day tripping with fellow international students.

I knew that I would love Barcelona, I Just didn't know how much, and my expectations were BEYOND exceeded with the help of CISabroad. From the beginning, applying and preparing to go abroad all of the staff were extremely helpful in answering questions
and making me feel prepared. Once I got there, it was super easy to find them at the airport and they delivered me to my apartment door, literally a 1 minute walk from Las Ramblas and the Christopher Columbus statue. Their orientations and welcome activities on site helped me get my bearings and make friends immediately. The classes and teachers were wonderful. There were many cultural activities to help immerse us in the culture from hikes, city tours and my favorite a cooking class. I'm not a super emotional person, but my roommates and I cried when it was time to leave and I cannot wait to go back. None of this would have been possible without CISabroad (and I'm actually planning to study abroad through them again, seriously that great).read moreBottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
