Program Overview

Program Description:

Gastronomic tourism is becoming a real player in the tourism market as food and wine attract greater numbers of travelers each year. On our January Wine Studies seminar, you’ll have the opportunity to examine the individuality and expression of France and Spain, bringing together their rich culinary heritage. You’ll taste French and Spanish wines and speak directly with winemakers, master chefs, and tourism agencies, and you’ll attend special lectures on winemaking and food pairing by master chefs and sommeliers. Along the way, you’ll visit famous cultural sites that have greatly influenced tourism, gastronomy, and the economies of these great countries.

Setting Description:
Be prepared to travel through six popular wine regions of France with a group of students who will become your good friends. This will be an exciting, fast-paced program with travel to many sites rich in history and wine traditions. You will stay together as a group for site visits and lectures during the day, but with the opportunity to explore the local cities and regions you will visit during the evenings.
