- On this J-term study abroad program, you travel throughout several of Europe’s most famous and illustrious cities during your Winter Break. This short term program focuses on the concept of the city in historical art and literature. Expect to absorb an academic foundation about each location, but then also experiencing the culture, art, and history for yourself while visiting cities such as Rome, Marseille, Paris, Prague, and London.
Always wanted to travel to Europe, but couldn’t choose where to go? - Now you don’t have to! This program includes trips to Rome, Paris, Aix en Provence, Marseilles, London, and Prague in its itinerary. These experiences will not only give you a deeper insight into the academics explored on the program, but will give you a chance to see some of Europe's top destinations for culture, history, art, and architecture in only a few weeks! You then might consider returning to any of the countries visited for a semester or summer, or check out a new country/region with us.
Choose from several courses for your academic experience - Though an overarching urban and cultural studies theme is present in all of the available courses, you can choose from a wide variety of course topics including: European Studies, Anthropology, Literature, Communications, and Geography. No matter which one you choose to take, all courses are taught by experts in their fields, with a combination of classroom-based lectures and on-site learning.
Great cities = great inspiration! - Enjoy abundant visits to museums, galleries, and historical monuments. You'll have the unique opportunity to visualize the physical and artistic development of each location, as you visit sites that have inspired countless famous artist, architects, poets, and film-makers. Our hope is that you are also inspired to create your own works of art, whether that means actual artwork, meaningful photos, life-long memories and friends, or whatever else your inspiration leads to.

This program is largely travel-based, meaning most of the time you’ll stick to the itinerary, which offers a blend of academic, social, cultural and recreational activities. The limited free time can be spent exploring your host city with other participants. - Quite a bit of traveling is packed into this three-week program! You will visit four countries and six cities during the program, getting to experience a wide range of European cultures. Expect to see and do things that provide genuine insight into the place you’re visiting.
