Evolution theorist Charles Darwin, who lived for a time in Valparaíso, wrote: “A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.” You’ll understand what he meant after a short time in this colorful city. There’s no time to waste with CIEE in Valparaíso as you live the Spanish language. Classes at a top-ranked university, homestays, volunteering activities, and lots of exploration make this a program not to be missed. Study abroad in Valparaiso and you’ll: Gain an understanding of Chile through CIEE courses that focus on Chilean heritage, identity, literature, art, and history Study at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso which is ranked among the top regional universities in Chile Take advantage of community service and volunteer opportunities at local schools, shelters, and non-governmental organizations Participate in cultural and educational activities, including visits to a rural community.
AACSB and EQUIS Accreditation
Liberal Arts program-related eligibility requirement: 4 semesters of Spanish language study (or equivalent). Both Liberal Arts and Language in Context students may enroll in business classes offered in at the Universidad Adolfo Ibañez (UAI) or CIEE (Liberal Arts students must take all classes in Spanish; Language in Context students typically take content classes in English). Students on both programs must also take a language class in addition to content courses offered by CIEE or any of the three host institutions available to the programs. CIEE-administered classes are not reported on the UAI (nor other host institution) transcripts.
