Program Overview

Program Description:

Get an insider's perspective on London this summer and experience British professional culture through a CIEE Summer Global Internship. Experience the transitions the UK is facing as it finds itself on the precipice of disconnecting from long established relations with the European Union. Navigate the various nuances of what it is to be “British,” and how society, culture, education, and economy are adapting to this new world. Through coursework, screenings, guest speakers, and cultural excursions, an internship in London will allow you to explore the UK’s vibrant and influential cultures while providing insight into the country’s social policies, value systems, and influence on the rest of Europe and the world.

CIEE Global Internship programs are built just for you! All of our locations offer a wide range of internship opportunities across a diverse set of industries. When you apply, we work directly with you to find an internship that suits your unique needs and professional goals.

As a CIEE Global Intern, you’ll work in a non-paying position with a local or multi-national company or organization, diving into a particular field of interest, exploring a different culture, and expanding your professional portfolio and network.

Students interning in London are placed with companies ranging from innovative start-ups to global organizations, local SMEs, and NGOs in a variety of industry sectors. The 8-week program includes between 200 and 240 hours of onsite internship project work with a 30-hour integrated academic seminar focusing on local business culture, intercultural communication, professional development, and linkages between local observations and global trends.
