Program Overview

Program Description:

Are you looking for a place where you can experience the real France, off the well-worn tourist track? A place close to picturesque medieval villages, beaches and resorts, and dramatic natural landscapes? Then look to Rennes, the city that embodies the best of what the French Northwest has to offer.

A one-time capital of Brittany and today a leading center for digital innovation, Rennes is a blend of the old and the new. You’ll enjoy deepening your understanding and use of French amid the many restaurants and cafes and a rich cultural scene driven by the city’s young – and youthful – population. Join fellow students and instructors at historic sites of unforgettable grandeur, including the spectacular medieval island city of Mont-Saint-Michel.

Your understanding of local culture will keep pace with your language skills. Join your host family for meals and short trips through the countryside and along the shore of the English Channel. Travel to places such as Normandy or Cornouaille, learning the stories behind thousand-year-old monuments and village squares along the way.

This incredible experience will not only deepen your understanding of French culture, it will place you on a path to further exploration of all things French, and an array of related career options.
