Program Overview

Program Description:

Narrow, winding streets and gabled 17th century rooftops, Rembrandt Square, the Flower Market and the Anne Frank house. Although Amsterdam is known for its rich artistic heritage and important historic landmarks, its mindset is definitely not stuck in the past. Here you'll have the opportunity to focus on different movements tied to social justice activism. You may choose to explore issues surrounding queer identity and LGBTQ rights. In a city known for openness and acceptance you'll find there is still an important fight going on to ensure equal rights. Or commit time to support efforts designed to address the historical marginalization and exclusion of Amsterdam's Black community and bring about needed social justice reform to ensure equal rights and access across all races in the Netherlands. Or you may decide to dedicate your time to women's rights.
