Program Overview

Program Description:

Gain global experience in the shadows of skyscrapers in this cultural melting pot.

Dive into your internship adventure in Hong Kong, known as one of the most vertical cities in the world. You’ll see why when you look up at all the shining skyscrapers from the Star Ferry crossing Victoria Harbour.

The deluxe Y-Loft youth hostel will be your home base. Not your average hostel, it’s part of the Chai Wan neighborhood’s innovative Youth Square complex which includes a cinema, art gallery, and rooms for performance art and events. A former warehouse district, Chai Wan is now a revitalized hub for creative professionals, with innovative start-ups and art galleries among the many businesses, hotels, and restaurants. From here, you’ll be a quick 20-minute train ride to shopping and dining options at Central, and a 30-minute train ride to all major Hong Kong tourist attractions and museums.

In your free time, hang out with new friends, play dominoes in the park, catch a local baseball game, and enjoy delicious snacks like tostones and empanadas on the go!

You’ll spend three days a week at a professional internship, with the rest of your time dedicated to studying professional development and intercultural context and, of course, discovering all the city has to offer. Practice your Chinese while immersing yourself in the local culture, easily traversing the city via one of the world’s most efficient subway systems. Take in a panoramic view of the city from Victoria Peak, visit the many Buddhist temples, tour the famous street markets – it’s easy to get from place to place.

Hong Kong is not just an international business hub, but also a center of art, culture, cuisine, and political advocacy. English is used for business and legal communication, making this strategic location an ideal place to gain real-world experience.
