Program Overview
- Program Description:
The CEHS Janurary-term program offers each and every program participant a complete, rewarding and unforgettable study abroad experience at a very affordable price. All students live with host families, will enjoy an all-inclusive travel package (meals too), an excellent class, modern facilities and a strong support structure.
Earn 3 credits over the course of a three week intensive Spanish immersion program. Improve your Spanish with your host family (students are placed one student per wonderful family).
Students will enjoy the exciting excursion package in this program. Student participants will spend a weekend in Madrid, visit the Royal Palace and Royal Glass factory in La Granja de San Ildefonso, and take an optional (but free) hike in the nearby Guadarrama Mountain Range.
Two afternoons each week of the program students will attend Spanish Conversation practice sessions with a faculty member. Several evenings over the course of the three weeks, the students will share "tapas" and socialize with other group members and one or more faculty members, and you guessed it, speak Spanish.
- Setting Description:
- Segovia, UNESCO designated World Heritage of Humanity city, is a beautiful, ancient city in the heart of Spain, and thanks to its rich history, breathtaking architecture, and undeniable charm, it is an ideal location for study abroad. As you roam the streets of Segovia, you move through Spanish history: the visible remnants of the past and Spain's diversity abound--the Roman Aqueduct, the fairy-tale like 12th-century Castle (El Alcázar), Spain's last Gothic Cathedral which presides over the Main Square, Mudéjar art (Islamic artistic influence under Christian rule), the Medieval Jewish Quarter, and much more. But Segovia, a city of 53,000, also has a lively cultural calendar, active nightlife, cinema, museums, shops, restaurants, and tranquil green areas...
- Cost:
- Pre-departure and On-site services included, such as orientation, advising, airport reception and return (when arriving within predetermined timeframe), resident directors, housing (host family), travel package, all meals, tuition, supplemental medical/travel insurance, social and cultural activities and more!
