- The M.A. in English (Literature) offers a rigorous, indvidualized program of advanced study of literature in English. Students enter the program to further their understanding of literature, to strengthen their teaching qualifications, to broaden their writing experiences, or to prepare for doctoral work. The M.A. in English (TESOL) is a one-year program designed to foster the awareness, understanding, and skills necessasry for effective teaching of English to speakers of other languages. It prepares educators to work with adult language learners in the U.S. and abroad through study in language, pedagogy, and culture.
