- Established in 1986, CEFAM is a Franco-American Business School working in partnership with certain American AACSB accredited universities, including: Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts; Pace University, New York City, New York; Siena College, Loudonville, New York; Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Rider University, Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
By definition, the CEFAM Program is international, and open to students of all nationalities who wish to pursue their business studies from an international perspective. Located in Lyon, an important European crossroads, CEFAM has built its reputation on both the high academic standards it offers and expects of CEFAM students, and on the Euro-American framework within which such standards are attained.
The CEFAM Program follows the American Liberal Arts tradition in education, allowing CEFAM students to study business and non-business subjects. Credits earned at CEFAM are transferable to American Universities. At CEFAM, all courses are taught in English by professors with advanced educational degrees and considerable experience in their particular professional area. CEFAM students benefit from a close-working environment and high professor-students contact level to ensure optimal conditions for a business education in an international setting. Study abroad students are enrolled in a French language course and a French culture class. Cultural activities and outings are organized all along the semester to allow a better integration for the students. The summer program combines global studies courses, cultural activities and trips outside of the classroom.
The study abroad students beneficiate from personalized assistance: study abroad coordinators and advisors help the students in their everyday life (getting cell phones, metro cards, opening a bank account in France…) The program includes an orientation week, a welcome and a Farewell dinner; cultural activities such as wine and cheese tastings, a visit to Annecy. The summer program includes a 2 day trip to Paris, a trip to Annecy and many cultural activities in Lyon.

The capital of French gastronomy, the city offers a choice between the popular charm of its famous “bouchon” bistros, the refined elegance of its two-to-three gourmet restaurants, and the warm lively atmosphere of its open-air market Students will be choosing from 3 types of accommodation: single apartment, shared apartment and homestay.
