Program Description:

Founded in 1984, Carmen de las Cuevas is the first Spanish Language School founded in Granada. It is also a leading Flamenco Centre, perfectly situated between the historic and traditional flamenco neighbourhoods of the Albaicin and the Sacromonte, and, 25 years on, continues to combine experience and enthusiasm to provide a unique learning experience.

Spanish courses at the Escuela Carmen de las Cuevas include Intensive Spanish Courses, 3-Month Spanish Course, Private Courses, and Complementary Courses. The Intensive Spanish Course meets 3 hours per day, Monday - Friday. There are 6 course levels, from beginner to advanced and each class has a max of 8 students. The Half Intensive Spanish Course consists of 7.5 hours of Spanish classes/wk (1.5 class hours/day). 3-Month Spanish Courses start every 2 weeks, have 15 Spanish class hours/wk, and last 12 weeks, in which time students advance several levels.

Teaching groups are kept small (maximum 8), allowing greater individual attention and more personal relationships with the teachers. The school’s friendly and relaxed atmosphere will make you feel at home. You will have your own key to the school, giving you access between 8am and 11pm, 7 days a week, to all our facilities, such as free internet and WIFI, the library with over 1200 books, video and music rooms, dance studios, the shaded patio and the terraces with their panoramic views of the Alhambra…

Setting Description:

Our school is beautifully located in Albaicin/Sacromonte with terraces over viewing Alhambra. The school building, a charming whitewashed house cut into the hillside, boats several sun-drenched terraces with breathtaking views of the Alhambra, as well as a shaded patio, and the cuevas with the flamenco studios. The cuevas, or caves, are a typical Granadian dwelling excavated into the mountain, from which we take the name “Carmen de las Cuevas”

The programms can be booked from one week up to several months. A two week package Spanish Intensive plus accommodation in a single room cost 582,50Euros, cultural programm and tutorials in group included for free.
