HND courses operate at levels 4 and 5. This is equivalent to the first two years of a university honours degree in the UK or primer ciclo universitario in Spain. HNDs are recognised and respected by universities and by employers. One of the main benefits of the HND courses is that they are highly flexible. Learners must complete around 16 units to achieve the HND. This will typically take 2 years to complete with 15 hours per week tuition, including Guided Learning, although learners have the flexibility of being able to take up to 4 years to complete the units. Learners who complete 8 specific units are awarded a Higher National Certificate (H.N.C.), which will enable them to apply for a place in many UK universities. At Cambridge House, learners may choose to combine their HND studies with two A-levels in order to provide them with the Spanish Título de Bachiller. Learners can access our HND courses in the September and February of each year. All HND courses run in a sixth month roll-over programme. There is a maximum HND group size of 15.
The HND course is associated with numerous advantages that make it an attractive option for many learners: HND Courses are Vocational - The HND course that you have decided to undertake will undoubtedly be geared towards the occupation that you wish to do subsequent to studying at University. Key Skills - The units of which the HND course is comprised cover all the key skills that you will need when you eventually look for work. Namely working as an individual, working within a team environment as well as completing both written and oral. No examinations – All assessment is assignment based; there is no pressure to pass exams An HND qualification combined with languages makes our learners more marketable and an attractive proposition for potential employers. Cambridge House is a specialist languages college with outstanding results and experience in language teaching. We offer tuition in English, Spanish, French, Italian and German.
