CBU Online’s Master of Science in Education with a Specialization in Teaching degree program is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of leadership required for professional excellence as trainers, teachers, school counselors and school psychologists, early childhood specialists, administrators, and designers. This program will prepare candidates to excel in their career and calling by providing a purposeful balance between theories, research and practice.
The online Master of Science in Education with a Specialization in Teaching (MSET) degree program will prepare students to advance their proficiency as well as their professions as trainers, teachers, counselors, curriculum developers, administrators, designers and leaders in a range of educational settings and capacities. Students will have the opportunity to enhance their skills, knowledge and value, explore expanded career options, and work toward professional goals as effective educators with specialized expertise. The online Master of Science in Education with a Specialization in Teaching at CBU Online and Professional Studies offers curriculum that balances theory, practice and research — allowing students to understand the application of concepts in resolving real-world instructional challenges. Blending key areas of study in human growth and development, theories of learning, curriculum design, and research methods, coursework integrates multiple disciplines while allowing students to identify and build on individual strengths to achieve specific professional goals.
To become a teacher, one must complete a credential program that can be a pathway to a master’s degree. A credential from California Baptist University requires at least 12 upper division units and student teaching. By applying a majority of those units, students can complete the online Master of Science in Education with a Specialization in Teaching degree with approximately 18 more units*.
*An evaluation will be completed to determine the total number of units required to meet the MSET degree requirements.
