Program Overview

Program Description:
The Bucerius Summer Program is an intensive three-week, English-taught course for international and German students. During the program, students and recent graduates gain a deeper understanding of the forces shaping international business law, so they are better prepared to meet the increasing needs of companies and law firms in the field. The next program will take place July 11-30, 2016 in the heart of Hamburg, Germany.

Kröll, Bucerius) Capital Markets Law (Dr. M. Wundenberg, Hengeler Mueller, London) International Commercial Litigation (Prof. Dr. P. Huber, University of Mainz) International Mergers & Acquisitions (N.N.)

Students with a background knowledge of or proven interest in international business law gain deeper insight into the field, learning from both practitioners and academics. The diverse student body and guest professors from around the globe ensure that the program itself is an exercise in internationality. In addition to taking courses, students are encouraged to take part in an extensive extracurricular program organized especially for them, including museum visits, city tours, social events and much more.
Setting Description:
Founded in 2000 by the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius, Bucerius Law School is the first private law school in Germany. The campus is centrally located in Hamburg's downtown area. Courses take place in a beautiful historic building that has been newly renovated and equipped with the most advanced technology. A modern auditorium and library also complement the campus. The combination of a quaint campus located in the center of Germany's second largest city offers comfort for everyone – familiar faces day-to-day, endless adventures to explore by night, and best of all, it's all accessible by Hamburg's efficient, safe public transportation system.
Cost:
The early application deadline for the Bucerius Summer Program in International Business Law is March 1, 2016. Applicants who submit their full application documents by this date will be eligible for a 15% discount off of the full tuition fee. All other applications are due by May 1, 2016 and will be charged the full tuition fee of € 1,800. Costs of accommodation, books, travel, etc. are extra. There is no application fee.
