Program Overview

Program Description:

Get ready for this action packed 12-day Spanish and cultural immersion adventure! We first travel North to the Sarapiqui region. Here the waters are deep blue and cut through the lush rainforest. We learn how to paddle while battling the rapids of the upper Sarapiqui River. In the afternoon, we fly through the treetops on a a zip lining tour of the canopy. We stay at a 2000 acre working ranch and get to observe bright tree frogs, tropical birds, and monkeys chattering in the trees.

We then head to the quaint mountain town of Orosi. Here we begin our formal Spanish lessons and split our days between language classes and conversation practice. We get break from classes and spend the night in the mountains, adventuring through a Costa Rican rope course.

To finish our adventure, we head to the Pacific Coast to Manuel Antonio National Park. We explore the gorgeous beaches, hiking trails and monkeys. We sea kayak along the coastline to a hidden beach and experience the best snorkeling in the area.

A 12-day language immersion course designed so students will improve their level of Spanish and gain an appreciation of Costa Rican culture. Setting Description:
One minute you’re in the northeast town of Sarapiqui, zip lining from tree to tree in the lush jungle. The next, you’re studying Spanish in the charming Orosi Valley, south of San Jose. Today, you’re on your way to a volcano. Tomorrow, you’re basking in the sun on a sandy beach and snorkeling in blue-green ocean. That’s Costa Rica for you: rugged over here, serene over there, wildly varied and unexpected at every turn, never boring. Getting around is easy, too. Begin in the Heredia Province and raft Class III rapids on the Sarapiqui River. Then, cruise over to the mountain town of Orosi in the south-central Cartago Province. There’s so much to do and see here. Charming Orosi is home base for your language studies and proves a perfect setting for afternoons spent learning to salsa dance. If you love nature, warm and friendly people, and mountains that seem to go on forever, you’ll love Orosi.
