Program Overview
- Program Description:
- Established in 1975, Bertrand Russell Italian School offers Italian language courses in Padua, Northern Italy to students from around the world. Padua (called Padova in Italian) is located 40 km west of Venice and it's international airport. Our school is the perfect venue for those who wish to study or improve their Italian. We offer group courses throughout the year at four levels - beginner, intermediate, advanced and superior. Our courses last for four weeks but students can choose to study for longer if they wish.
We have highly specialized staff and dynamic and effective teaching methods. We supply students with the necessary tools for getting to know or deepening their knowledge of the Italian language and culture. We offer a series of services, such as the offer of accommodation with Italian families or in flats, the organization of day trips and excursions that allow students to know Padua, its history and its territory, and several social events that allow students to get to know each other, Italy and the Italians.
Attendance: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday to Friday The Italian language courses are divided into four different levels with progressive levels of difficulty, from elementary (A1) to advanced (C2), according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Students who already have some knowledge of Italian can join a course at the appropriate level for them at any time, after taking a short test to assess their level of competence. We strongly recommend absolute beginners to join courses on the scheduled start dates. Duration of the courses: Each level lasts for 4 weeks (80 hours). It is possible to attend courses for less than 4 weeks, and in this case the cost is proportional to the length of attendance. Size of classes: 10 students per class (maximum)

- Since 1222, when the University was founded (the second oldest in the world after that of Bologna) Padua has always been an academic town. Half of Padua's population is made up of students, making it a young people's town, where it is easy to make friends. The city is home to several theatres and venues that offer a remarkable drama and opera schedule, as well as pop concerts to everyone’s liking. Moreover, it is ideally placed in the northeast of Italy, near Venice, Verona, mountain and sea resorts and is therefore at the heart of a dense network of communication routes.
