Concentration in Biology: Environmental Studies
This concentration prepares the student for careers in lo
cal, state and federal governmental agencies, as well as
careers in industry and field biology. Students may also pursue further education in graduate programs in the environmental sciences or organismal biology.
Whether you're interested in environmental protection of endangered species, or finding a cure for Alzheimer's, or cancer — Averett's biological and physical sciences department will prepare you for the career of your choosing. If you're looking to pursue an advanced degree after graduating from Averett with a bachelor's degree in the sciences, you are automatically accepted into the master's program in clinical laboratory science at Virginia Commonwealth University as long as you have a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
