Program Overview

Program Description:

Throughout their bachelor degree years (and afterwards, in professional development courses), teachers spend plenty of time studying the ways K-12 students learn, and how to effectively teach to their strengths. Teachers who want to advance their knowledge of the teaching and learning process, as well as understand the principles of curriculum design, can pursue their Master of Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction (M.Ed.).

Averett University’s Graduate and Professional Studies division offers a 15 month, 30-credit M.Ed. program designed for current, certified Virginia teachers. The M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction is taught in-person at our learning sites throughout Virginia. It is formatted to fit with the busy educator’s schedule, for professional development that doesn’t prevent you meeting other obligations.
