The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) is among the best academic centers in Spain and the European Union, both for the quality of its teaching staff and for its excellent research.

Athena's Barcelona program is an exceptional value with lots of program inclusions at an affordable program fee. Athena's Barcelona program has field trips and excursions INCLUDED in the price of the program. Destinations can vary by term, but potential field trips may include: Madrid, The Pyrenees, Valencia, Sitges, Girona and Figueres and others

Barcelona’s mild climate and the diversity of the different landscapes of the Catalonia region provide students with a variety of opportunities to spend time on the beaches, in the Pyrenees Mountains, or visiting some of the most famous wineries and cava (champagne) caves of Spain.
