Program Description:

Join Arcos Journeys Abroad for a unique learning and experiential journey in Argentina. Learn about the challenges of recycling in the urban environment of Buenos Aires. Meet with local schools groups and nonprofits working to solve the city’s difficult recycling challenges. Then travel to the tropical region of Misiones and volunteer at a rural elementary school. Assist with classes and school projects such as the school’s farm. As part of this journey, experience the awe and power of Iguazu Falls. Learn about conservation and national park efforts in Argentina. 

The program includes cultural activities to complement the learning experience and engage more deeply into the life and culture of Argentina. It explores a diversity of landscape and environments to provide an in-depth understanding of the successes and challenges facing Argentina.

Setting Description:
Argentina is the sixth largest country in the world. From the delta plains of Buenos Aires and the Rio de la Plata, to the tropical forests and massive waterfalls of Iguazu Falls to the north, it has an unmatched physical diversity. With such a large area and many diverse populations, this developing country faces many challenges. Learn about some of these challenges and solutions being implemented. The program takes place in Buenos Aires and Misiones province. Buenos Aires is known as the Paris of South America. It’s a vibrant capital city with many parks, museums and quaint neighborhoods. In Misiones province, experience a rural side of Argentina surrounded by tropical forests and rivers.
