Program Description:

Travel to London and Amsterdam this summer with the AIFS LGBTQ+ In the UK: Pride and Prejudice program! You’ll earn 3 credits from Richmond, the American International University in London. Course is taught in English.

Live in double rooms in London and in Amsterdam. You will have daily breakfast provided in both cities.

Spend 21 nights in London and 3 nights in Amsterdam. 

Cultural and academic excursions include: 

  • Visit to Gay’s the World bookstore
  • Participating in the London Pride Parade
  • Day trip to Brighton, England (popularly known as the “gay capital” of the UK)
  • Visit to Amsterdam Public Library’s Pink Cabinet, home to the largest collection of LBGTQ+ literature in Europe
  • Visit to Homomonument
  • Traditional open top canal cruise. 
Setting Description:
London and Amsterdam are two of Europe's most vibrant cities and each has a well-established LGBTQ+ culture and history. Spend 3 weeks in London studying the history and culture of the LGBTQ+ community in the U.K. before traveling to Amsterdam to examine the international reach of LGBTQ+ politics and learn more about the activism and celebration of LGBTQ+ people in Europe. Take part in the London Pride celebrations, one of the biggest public events in the U.K.
Cost:
AIFS is a premier provider of study abroad programs. Comprehensive program fees cover tuition and housing with $800,000 in scholarship and grant funding available each year. A meal plan, tours and excursions, insurance and 24-hour emergency service are also included. Coordinated AIFS flight packages are available.
