Setting Description:
Arnold Toynbee’s essay “Encounter Between Civilizations” suggested that 21st century historians will say that, “The great event of the 20th century was the impact of western civilization on all other living societies of the world of that day.” Spend just over 3 weeks traveling through 7 European cities and interrogating this idea firsthand. Study in London (5 nights), Amsterdam (3 nights), Paris (4 nights), Lausanne (1 night), Venice (2 nights), Florence (4 nights) and Rome (4 nights).
